We offer various preventive wellness services to keep your pet healthy through every life stage, including cat and dog vaccinations, exams, screening bloodwork and parasite control.
About Your Pet’s Wellness Exam
The comprehensive wellness exam is one of the most common reasons for a veterinary visit, whether you choose our Milaca, Foley, or Becker location. Typically, we recommend that pets have a wellness exam at least once a year, but we may recommend more frequent visits for senior pets. Let us know of any concerns you have about your pet during these visits. Perhaps Max hasn’t had a big appetite in a while, or Fido has been lethargic and hiding more often. No one knows your companion better than you do, so if there are any physical or behavioral changes you’ve noticed, we want to know about them. The doctor will perform a nose-to-tail assessment and address your concerns as well as discuss any important physical exam findings. Whether it’s weight gain, dental disease, itchy skin or other problems, we can discuss our recommendations for treatment and/or additional testing (blood work, imaging, etc.). We’ll also discuss our recommendations for parasite control, vaccinations and routine testing to help keep your pet comfortable and healthy.
Pet vaccines work the same way that human vaccines do. They help strengthen the immune system’s ability to fight off bacteria and viruses that cause diseases, which is why they’re so important for your pet’s overall wellness. We offer both core vaccinations (recommended for all patients) and non-core vaccinations (recommended based on individual risk) and therefore customize our recommendations to meet your pet’s specific needs.
