Mille Lacs Veterinary Clinic at Milaca is staffed with a team of friendly doctors and support staff to meet the needs of your small pet or large animal.
Dr. Jacobsen-Siemers is a small animal veterinarian at the Milaca clinic. She grew up in Milaca and obtained a biology degree from the College of Saint Benedict prior to attending veterinary school at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Jacobsen-Siemers joined MLVC in 2009, and became a co-owner in 2019. She has special interests in small animal medicine and public health. Dr. Sara lives in Milaca with her husband Mitchell and daughter, and their 3 terriers Mac, Muzzy, and Charley.
Dr. Nord joined the MLVC Milaca clinic in 2002 and became a co-owner in 2007. He received his BA in biology from St. Olaf College and is a graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Nord works primarily on large animals but enjoys spending his free time with his wife; two children; their dogs, Eddie and Lena; and cat, Socrates, at home. His special interests lie in bovine and equine herd health, preventative medicine, and any type of surgery.
Dr. Dan Peterson is a large animal veterinarian, he joined MLVC in June 2013. He grew up in Ogilvie, MN and went on to obtain his BS degree in animal science from the University of Minnesota, Crookston in 2009. Dr. Peterson graduated from the University of Minnesota’s College of Veterinary Medicine. His professional interests include large animal medicine from horses & cattle to small ruminants & swine. Dr. Peterson married his high school sweetheart, Rachel, and they now have a beautiful little girl as well as two dogs, Diesel and Gemma, and a cat, Bandit, at home. In his free time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, and any other outdoor activity.
Dr. Hegman joined the Mille Lacs Veterinary Group in 2017. She received her Bachelors in Animal Science from the University of Wisconsin River Falls. She then graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015. Her professional interests include small animal internal medicine, ultrasonography, and ophthalmology. In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, her dog Zeus, and her two horses.
Sheena joined our team in October 2018. She is a CVT who received her degree in Veterinary Technology with honors from MN School of Business in 2008. Her professional experiences are in emergency veterinary care, veterinary higher education, and retail pet store management. Sheena resides in Sartell with her husband, two sons, and cat. When she’s not at work, she enjoys golfing, crocheting, collecting agates, and watching hockey.
Certified Veterinary Technicians
Erin is a small animal veterinary technician at the Milaca Clinic. She graduated from Ridgewater College in 2001 and joined MLVC in June of 2003. She enjoys spending her free time with her horse, Nick; three dogs, Katie, Louis and Jetta; and her three cats, Bing, Wheeler and Simon. She also keeps very busy with her two girls and little boy as well as her husband, Steve.
Shannon is a small animal veterinary technician for the Milaca Clinic. She joined MLVC in March 2009 after graduating with honors from MSB with an AAS degree in veterinary technology. Shannon especially enjoys working with brachycephalic (“squish faced”) dogs and has a special love for Boston terriers. Shannon has two crazy Boston terriers of her own at home, Beau and Dixie. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Aaron, and three young sons. She also enjoys fishing, camping, shopping, and scrap-booking.
Stephanie is a small animal veterinary technician at the Milaca and Foley clinics. She has been with MLVC since February 2007. She graduated from Ridgewater College in 2006 with her veterinary technology degree. Stephanie is married to her husband, Jon, and has two girls and one boy at home. In her spare time, she enjoys fishing, gardening and spending time with her family and her animals. Currently, she has four dogs, two cats, a few beef cows, and a pony.
Katie is the large animal veterinary technician with the Milaca and Foley clinics. She received her BS degree in animal science from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities in 2006, and has been a die-hard Golden Gopher all her life. She completed an AAS degree in veterinary technology in 2011 from Argosy University and joined MLVC that same year after obtaining her veterinary technician certification. When she is not working with the “big guys,” Katie spends time with her Australian Kelpie, Aberdeen; her cat, Belle; and Shetland pony, Rusty. She also loves spending lots of quality time with her little nephew, family, and friends; as well as reading, music, and being outdoors.
Erin Herbrand is a small animal veterinary technician at the Foley and Milaca Clinics. Erin graduated from Ridgewater College in 2001 with her veterinary technology degree and joined MLVC in 2005. She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two boys. Erin and her family also love playing with their black lab and four house cats.
Krista started working with us in February of 2015. She graduated and received her certification from the Minnesota School of Business in 2012. The area she finds most interesting in the veterinary field is preventative care. She and her husband, Andy, have two children. They have been raising Simmental cattle since 2006, and have 5 pets: Border Collies Kid and Tillie; a Blue Heeler mix named Lyle; and two cats, Lady and Bumblebee. In her free time, Krista loves riding and showing Quarter horses.
Faith grew up in Nebraska but moved to Elk River, Minnesota at a young
age. She has always loved caring for animals and has a passion for helping clients and their pets. She started her veterinary technician education at Minnesota School of Business and finished her degree at Ridgewater College in Willmar in 2017.
Faith has outdoor cats at her parent’s hobby farm but hopes someday to
get a dog. She enjoys cooking, spending time with her five sisters, running,
being outside and traveling. She had a wonderful time on a volunteer trip to help at a small animal clinic in Mongolia and hopes to get an opportunity to return in the future.
Faith is excited to be working at Mille Lacs Vet clinic, where she is always learning new things and enjoys her daily interactions with her co-workers and the clinic’s clients.
Customer Service Team
Connie joined MLVC in July of 2006. She enjoys interacting with the clients and making them smile. She also works on the family dairy farm with her husband. In her spare time, Connie enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves to ride the 4-wheeler with her seven granddaughters.
Heidi Jo is originally from Dalbo, MN and graduated from Ogilvie High School. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from NDSU with an emphasis in equine science and completed an equine reproduction internship in Fort Collins, CO. She joined the Milaca clinic in 2018 and currently lives in Cambridge with her husband Jimmy, young son Quinten, 3 cats (Wiggles, Cali, Tipsy), 1 dog (Eli), and 3 horses (Silky, Annie, and Misty). Her hobbies include showing horses, hunting, camping and softball but her favorite pastime is spending time with her family.
Morgan started with MLVC in July of 2018 as a receptionist at the Milaca clinic but has since also started working at the Foley clinic.
She has an older sister and a twin brother. She lives with two dogs (Ruby and Zeus), 2 horses, and a Flemish Giant rabbit (Dubai). She enjoys playing with her dogs, riding horses, camping and four wheeling.
